Grammatophyllum, abbreviated in horticultural trade as Gram, is a genus of 13 currently known orchid species. The name is derived from the Greek words ‘gramma’ (letter) and ‘phyllon’ (leaf), referring to the dark markings in the flower.


Grammatophyllum multiflorum:- one of the longest-blooming orchids in existence: it can be in bloom for nine months.


Grammatophyllum speciosum (Giant Orchid,sugar cane orchid, Tiger Orchid, Queen of Orchids ) :- believed to be the largest orchid species in existence.

Grammatophyllum will tolerate considerable summer heat as long as they get cool, mild night temperatures but once the plant spikes or  flowers, it should be protected from low temperatures


Grammatophyllum enjoys the morning and afternoon sun most, yet should be protected from the hot mid-day sun.
